A Little More About Reserving a Puppy from Woofs and Woods

Welcoming a puppy into your home is such an exciting milestone! Below is a step-by-step overview of what the reservation and adoption process looks like at Woofs and Woods:

Step 1: Puppy Application

Start by filling out the Woofs and Woods Puppy Application.

Once submitted, I’ll confirm receipt within about 48 hours (usually by text or phone), and we’ll arrange a convenient time for a video call.

Step 2: Connection Call

This relaxed, face-to-face video call gives us a chance to get to know each other.

We’ll chat about your home, lifestyle, and timing, and I’ll answer any questions you have about bringing a puppy home. My goal is to make sure it’s the right fit for both you and the puppy.

Step 3: Reserving Your Spot

To officially reserve a spot for a puppy, a $400 non-refundable reservation fee is required once:

• Your application has been approved

• We’ve completed our call

Payment can be made via e-transfer or cash.

Step 4: Stay Connected

Once reserved, you’ll be invited to follow along by following our Facebook and Instagram. 

• Regular updates, photos, and videos of the puppies

• Helpful tips on preparing for your puppy

• Guidance on topics like potty training, crate training, puppy biting, and more

• The opportunity to connect with other Woofs and Woods families

Step 5: Litter Confirmation

Once a litter is born, I will reach out to families in order of reservation to confirm their spot on that specific litter.

At that time, you’ll have the option to:

• Move forward with that litter, or

• Wait for a future litter if the timing isn’t right or your preferences (male/female) aren’t available

Step 6: Meet the Puppies

At around 6 weeks of age, you’ll have the chance to meet the puppies—either in person or by video.

Each family is given 1 hour to interact and start getting to know the litter.

Step 7: Puppy Selection

Between 6–7 weeks, each puppy undergoes a temperament evaluation.

• Puppy selections take place around 7 weeks old, in reservation order

• Results from the temperament assessment help guide your choice and ensure a good match

Step 8: Puppy Pickup (8 Weeks Old) 🎉

Before your puppy goes home:

• Final Balance is received

• Purchase Agreement is signed

Then comes the best part—bringing your puppy home!

You’ll also be welcomed into the Woofs and Woods community so you can stay connected and share your journey.

Boarding

Puppies are ready to join their new families at 8 weeks old. We understand that sometimes families have plans that cannot be altered. If boarding is required beyond 9 weeks we can continue to board your puppy for $25/day. This will need to be arranged as early as possible to ensure we are available to accommodate.
